Findpreceptor.com is a fee-based agent which helps students find clinical sites. We may pay honorarium to the clinic for their service. We will not place students from any school which does not allow the service of paid agent or the clinic receiving honorarium.
Our goal is simple: To create learning success stories, one student at a time.
The process involves you contacting us for clinical preceptorship. You tell us hours needed, name of your school and location you prefer. We will match your criteria with our contracted clinics. We will send you for an interview with the provider of the clinic. If the clinic accepts you, then you are ready for clinical.
Why it is hard to find clinical preceptor now a days for NPs?
Back in the old days, one had to physically go to school to become NP. Thus only a few who would have time and ability to pursue advanced Nurse education. NP profession was a novelty. The students pursuing were very few and there were plenty of clinics around. Now number of independent clinics have dwindled and due to increasing online courses being offered by many schools in the country, the number of NP students enrolling have sky rocketed. Hence there is an acute shortage of clinical sites and only a few clinics are willing to take them. Given the basic supply and demand in-equilibrium, we are seeing new consultant services emerging to help students find clinical sites.
In order to recruit prospective clinics, the consulting companies provides honorarium to the preceptors. The company understand that clinics have to spend their valuable time, resources, and material on paperwork and training students. Adequate hands on training for students require reducing patients volume for a slow and safe flow at the clinical sites!
